W4 the same as 316?

the bit to worry about is the screws. Sometimes even when the band is 316, the screw is 304, or even mild steel, so that is the bit which corrodes. Maybe just the threads go so it seems to work but is not gripping.

Not a product where you skimp - buy from a reliable source where you can physically check what you are buying.
 
Have to agree. I buy from a local trade fastenings company and there is great reassurance speaking directly with someone who knows their stuff and can offer suggested (or alternative) products on the counter for you to ponder over.

Not to mention often at a very good price.

Spot-on, but are we talking pipe clips here (as the OP wrote) or hose clips, to which your good advice refers?
 
What are you going to use them for? In some applications they may be adequate, but if you are using them where there is chance of salt water leaking onto them - for example hoses to seacock tails then not worth the risk. Fresh water plumbing on the other hand would probably be OK.
