I know this is an old thread, but......does anyone know "where" the antenna wire connects
I took my case apart looking for some kind of reset button. And the antenna wire come off the circuit board. For the life of me, I can not figure how to reattach

All I was doing was looking for someway to determine/reset the password

I ended up binning my vyacht unit and buying this: TeamSurv > Logging > NMEA0183 Wi-Fi Interface which was cheap, manufactured in the UK and had UK support

I have been using one of these for a while.
QK-A031 NMEA 0183 Multiplexer with SeaTalk Converter - AIS receiver, Marine NMEA multiplexer,IoT solutions in UK
You may need a protocol convertor if you are using really old NMEA kit which is RS232 and not a differential signal (RS422).
I get all the boat data plus AIS across wifi - and it is only just over £100.
