I use NordVPN. One subscription covers my Android phone (wifi and mobile data connections) and home PC. Easy to set up and use.
Be careful, we are in danger of being called 'kiddie fiddlers' again or something as equally disgusting in our desire to protect our privacy.

There's an awful lot of ill-informed opinion and and just plain eccentricity on ybw. It's like the wider internet, but seen through Daily Mail spectacles. Which is why I try not to enter into arguments. If I have something to say, I say it. If anyone disagrees they're welcome.

I keep coming back because, like the wider internet, if you filter out the saloon-bar pontificating, there's some useful opinion and advice on here too.

Not a bad judgement of much that is posted elsewhere but on strictly boaty subjects, an excellent source of information.

I use Nord VPN, it’s very good and you get 5 or 6 licences for use with PC, Android, IOS
My iPad, iPhone and PC all have the program constantly activated and Indont know it’s there really until, every now and then the Beeb spots it’s a proxy server and refuse entry, but there’s so many UK servers there’s always a solution.

Yes- I am in the UK and yes again- if I a TV licence

I just downloaded surfshark, £50 for three years upfront.

Primarily to watch bbc iplayer. Unfortunately the bbc recognizes that I'm using a VPN and blocks me. Doh!

We use the VPN which comes as part of Norton 360, it seems to work, on a recent trip to Australia my laptop retained the UK time and I could access the BBC Uk pages to keep on top of the news. I hope that, because it is part of a security package it's help keep the computer viruses at bay, but that's a hope rather than an expectation. it was also very easy to setup, just tick a box in the Norton settings menu. works on PC', Mac's, Android and IOS.

I know this has been asked a million times already, so apologies in advance. But, could I ask the collective which vpns they use? In particular, I am interested in connecting to UK servers from abroad. Ideally, I would also like something that would allow the same account to be utilised on both laptop and iPad.

Many thanks in anticipation.
Thunder VPN and I also pay a sub to Nord VPN who are excellent

Before you use any VPN make sure location is switched off as well as deleting any Google IDs and not forgetting to completely clear your history and Cookies forever.I also use Duck Duck Go search engine which is good at blocking tracing programmes such as intrusive google. It can tell you when Google for example is trying to track you.
If trying to access Oz TV for example I always choose an Oz VPN Server on Nord.

What setup is best depends on what you're trying to achieve of course. As well as NordVPN I use Ghostery, Adblock Plus and Privacy Badger. Between them, I get almost no ads (none at all on here, for example), no redirections to other sites without my permission and no Facebook tracking.

For cleaning cookies, I have Firefox set to delete them at the end of each session and use Ccleaner whever I need a good clean out.

I don't believe in making it too easy for trackers, advertisers and private data salesmen. Although they are cleverer than me and it's a constant battle that I'm not sure I'm winning.
