Hi I did this many years ago on my vp 2003 , surprisingly I bought the vp kit it came with a sender that replaced the alarm single
Connection with a double contact sender and the gauge it was cheap compared with buying them individually, I still have the gauge but no sender or cables. Google it it may be still available it's very easy to install .
