VP Impeller tool - no use!!

Tested it on the (genuine) VP impeller - threaded in fine!

Went to remove the impeller yesterday but the shaft comes out over the threads on the impeller shaft.

Anyone else experience this?

Nope. Just one puller fits all the AD/KADs, never had one fail on genuine imps.

A pair of long nosed pliers will pull it our sufficiently to expose some thread and then it can be used.

However, I just want the proper tool for the job (hence buying the VP double-nut thing).

If anyone has a link to the correct size pullers, i'd be grateful

I bought one a few years ago. Didn't work for my D4, nothing to screw it into as the drive shaft filled the inner bore of the impellor. I assumed later D4s had a shorter drive shaft, so allowing the tool to be fitted.

Like VPaul, I used it on my old boats 63p's and it worked great, I used a few bolts of different thread lengths, I used a piston ring compressor to adjust and slide in the new impellers.

Not changed them yet on my Cat 3126s, hope to do so in a couple of weeks...
