With our 2007 D4-260/DPH set up we have the digital trim indicator which always shows a full in trim of +4 and I would like to get it running correctly.

I seem to remember a thread some time ago about how to re-set these indicators -- a potentiometer somewhere that you adjust to give a specific resistance?

Can anyone tell me where the pot is and how it should be adjusted? Oh yes, and can it be done with the boat in the water?

Thanks in advance, Nick.

You don’t adjust the sender you set it in calibration by placing the evc in calibration then trimming up and down .

On my 290 dp outdrive, like most other volvo outdrive I assume, the trim indicator can be set by aligning the toothed sender wheel in the toothed track on the helmet housing on the outdrive. If memory serves me right, the wheel should have an indentation and/ or a white mark which indicates the tooth that sits into the first slot on the toothed track. Thr trim indicator on the dash will change as you rotate the wheel, so that's how I'd "calibrate" it. This is done with the leg fully lowered, for ease of access and to give you a definitive starting point. The track can be moved aside to align the wheel, by unscrewing the machine screw at the front outer end of the track. Hope this all makes sense.

Definitely try the power trim calibration procedure as quoted above. I recently did mine for another issue and it worked out a treat, plus its the easiest option.

The manual is very clear and concise worked fine for me, but the attached may also help.

You’ve described and old drive and completely contradicted Paul who knows about this stuff !!

Thank you for the heads up. Isn't life an education which is one of the reasons why I belong to forums such as this. And apologies to Paul for having contradicted him. Mea culpa!
