Does anyone know the size of the spanner needed to remove the anode plugs on the D6. It’s a square plug and some research (google) appears to show it as a 1/2 inch NPT with a M8c stud thread. I’m having no joy finding the right tool to remove the anode plugs to replace the anodes and I can’t get a shifting spanner on one engine due to the belt positioning.

Baffled of the South of France.

I use a 6" long 1/2" socket set extension, it fits the anode plug and the other end drops down below the belts and then use an adjustable on the other end, plus there is no chance of rounding off the brass plug .

Pretty much the same here but I also have a very old Norbar torque wrench that has a push out half inch square bar , it fits great on the plug and is also a ratchet , priceless bit of kit when the plugs square is in bad condition.

I have one of those too, never thought of that, great tip!
