VP D6-370 compressor

Morning all
Can someone explain when the compressor on my D6-370 should operate?, I have a problem on my Targa38 where the engine falters at 1000rpm, nothing happens as you move the throttle forward until the engine suddenly increases to 1500 rpm, after that it operates normally through the rpm range

The compressor kicks in when the ECU thinks it's necessary. That's not usually in the 1000-1500rpm range.
I'd be looking more closely at the throttle potentiometers - try a re-calibration first.

Possible boost sensor problem either the pressure or air inlet temp , one sensor does both .
