Good evening all,
Does anyone know if the cam followers for the valve pushrods can be removed for inspection without removal of the head on a Volvo Penta aqad41a??
The only info I can find online is how to inspect them when they are out!!
I suspect that one or both of the rear cylinders (5&6) have worn lifters (cam followers)
causing a ticking noise and would like to sort it before the season starts properly
Cheers

Yes you can remove them by taking off the side plate covers , you will have to remove the intercooler and injection pump to remove the 3 covers. I doubt there worn though I've never seen them wear out, could be the rocker arms or ball studs on the arms.

Cheers for the reply Volvo paul, I'll take a look at the rockers and push rods as well as the lifters
