Now the head is off for the head gasket and the injectors are out, I want to take the opportunity to replace the injector sleeves and get the injectors ‘serviced’.

Any suggestions for source of sleeves and tools?

Chris

You do not say why you want to replace the sleeves. Did you inadvertently shift one when removing the injectors. To make life easier in ghe future always coat your injectors with a generous layer of copperslip. They will then be easy to remove.

It just seems prudent to do whilst it was apart. Two injectors came out with barely any effort and the third just needed some gentle twisting back and forth to free it, all by hand. The sleeves do not appear to have moved and I’m pretty sure there was no blowby previously either.
I’m taking the injectors for a checkout and might ask them about recutting the seats, I think it’s something they can do.

You dont recut seats. If sleeves not disturbed, get injectors serviced and put back in. Mine ,had local agent install new sleeves, 3 months later, blowby.! Replaced with Vetus. Could have tried inserting copper washer.

Why would you not have the seats recut?

Because cleaning them with correct tool (stiff plastic?rotary Brush) is considered correct procedure RFM if you have one
Hmm, I read the field manual, both versions I have, and it doesn't mention this cleaning process at all. I'll have a chat with the injector guys, they are familiar with these engines.

RFM if you have one
If you haven't

From memory - it was nearly 20 years ago, this is correct. The sleeves replace washers, and adding a washer is more likely to cause problems than fix them.

I also seem to remember that the sleeves are hard to find, so unless they've been disturbed, it's very much a case of if it ain't broke...If they have been, they need to be replaced if you can find them, or refitted using the correct tool to expand them in place

A copper washer is not only NOT REQUIRERED in a copper sleeve but using g one can upset the atomisation in the cylinder due to the injector holes sitting too high in the head.
