I sail on three principles : small boat = small problem, Keep It Stupidely Simple and what you don't have on board will never fail you. More seriously what has happened to the Hills, it seems they gave up junk rigging to Wylo 2 a gaffer, why, can any body tell me more about it ?

They got divorced, and Annie remarried some time ago (another sailor, called the 'Iceman' because he likes high latitude sailing). Dunno what Pete has done, though.

It was a surprise to read that. I understood that she separated from her first husband because he wanted to sail high latitudes. Whoever said that God moved in mysterious ways had obviously never met a woman :-)

and Deliberate Misunderstanding??

That's a tough one, how can you deliberately misunderstand anything? unless one chooses to have a blonde moment? Which is often a ploy used by women to get something done for them that they can't be assed to do themselves. Unfortunately, there are often enough blokes around that have still got their brains in their trousers, that will fall for it. Personally, I moved me brains back to head some years ago, works better, better blood supply!

Re: \"Voyaging on a small income\"

Woman stay in love with a man for six months, then they see all in a clear light!Never take a woman at her word! Always treat them propley from the start!

Just becouse they open a second bottle of wine dosent mean the approve!! So just take one glass with lunch from the start! When a woman tells you what a rotten day she had she dosent exactly mean it!She just wants to be listend to and spoilt!ASK her if you can get her a small white wine chanpagne or tea.Cook well or do the washing up without asking!

Do the washing and hang it from time to time, massarge her back along those lines woman dont bite!

And better NEVER ask her aboard leave her on the key and be quick about what ever you have to do abaord kiss her apolagise for being so long and suggest eating out!

Was it painful? Any tips I can pass on to the males in my household / zoo?

[/ QUOTE ]

Naaaaaa. not painful at all, just comes with the onset of years usually, but in my case it was a deliberate policy change.

You could say that I woke up one morning and saw the light!

There was an elderly british actor, I think it may have been Sir Ralph Richardson, who said that at the age of 72, he finally realised that he lost his libido, followed by saying "THANK GOD! I am at last free, of those awful chains that have bound me in slavery all these years".

Re: \"Voyaging on a small income\"

Oh dear Monsieur Trouville,

I fear you have much to learn, remove brains from trousers, and none of what you just said actually matters all the much.

I always try and treat women, with respect, the same as I do for men, dogs, cats, etc. I have very quickly cottoned on to the fact that once women realise that you have no interest in them sexually, they very rapidly loose interest in you. They have lost the one thing that gave them the advantage see. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

My dear trou,
Guess all the forumites have worked out that you're not a native English speaker, but with this brilliant insight into female behaviour, are u perhaps female? No insult intended, just curious

Not wrong at all, I too have some very good and loyal women friends, but that is not what I was talking about.

Not last time i looked!!

In France a woman on your side is an asset for this they need support and understanding then their strong !

I have a freind in the Charante he sounds very like Mr smify, well he has a new girl friend but he also has a large house business and looks alright?and there is a shortage of men!He sounds content and his girlfreinds there.

One other thing to remember about a woman is that she knows men and other woman! as a rule a woman will become worried if "her" man is away from her for more than a few days!Therefor a good careing stable relationships important though haveing to be clear that im off sailing to do this we have to be freinds have a deep understanding and trust

Another reason for working at even a transient sometimes physicaly distant relationship is aids TB and other stds brought in and made worse by refugees

Re: \"Voyaging on a small income\"

I thoroughly enjoyed "Voyaging on a Small Income" when it first came out. However, one considerable difficulty with Annie Hill's approach is that now she has a different (and presumably more financially stable) partner, she has abandoned a lot of her fiscal principles herself! She mentions for instance in December's YM how GPS is useful in areas like the Tuamotus. It is indeed of course but this runs counter to her book's defence of the sextant as "Badger's GPS". A small point in itself but one of many in her more recent writings which seem to show that contrary to her stated philosophy, she would have preferred more security had it been available.

hmm! hmm! may we go back to Annie Hill : it seems they gave up junk rigging to Wylo 2 a gaffer, why, can any body tell me more about it ?
