Hi, I am considering a 38 foot boat with the above engines. I would have preferred holding out for one with the TAMD63P's at 370HP but the boat is otherwise in good condition and engines are low hours at 500 on a 25 year old boat with full service history.

Are the engines good enough to make an offer or should I wait for the TAMD63P's?

Thanks

Hi I've got 63p's in my phantom, decent motors although a little smokey at times.
Not really heard any bad comments about any of the 60's series Volvo's.

Ps was that yourself at millport last Saturday?

I had a Princess 410 with the 62A motors , it’s basically a 61A with a bigger turbo .
No reasons not to own but have it checked over by a Volvo engineer.
What boat are they in?

My guess is a Princess 380. (-;

Got it in one... bit of a minefield getting a good old boat and not buying someone problem..... and even a good one is always a compromise I suppose but that's boating unless you have a big pot of cash!
