Hi Folks,

Does anybody have experience of rebuilding the trim rams on a volvo DPE drive. The rubber of the scrapper seals on mine are perished. The rams aren't leaking but the scrappers would benefit from being replaced. I have been trying to find rebuild kits with limited luck. If anybody knows a UK supplier that would be great, also any advice on the rebuild.

I v s s in Kent rebuild the rams.
 
If it is just the scrappers you wish to change you need 24mm OD X 16mm Bore X 4mm wide lip seals with stainless springs.I have changed mine and purchased from Ashley Power, Parkstone, Poole, but any bearing supplier should be able to supply, they should be a brown colour which i believe indicate stainless springs.The worst part of the job is seperating the end caps from the cylinders i ended up drilling the 4mm holes out to 5mm dia.and use 5mm pins, as with the 4mm holes the 4mm pins kept bending, and they were hardened dowels.

Hi Yabs not sure if this will be of any help but I found an excellent post on here last April posted by "jparham" titled Think I've mended my KAD 32 DPE rams, I followed this post and rebuilt my starboard side trim ram on a VP DPR sterndrive. He has pictures on photobucket which are very helpful.
If you can not find this on a forum search PM me with your e-mail address and I will send on the step by step guide and pictures..
