Hi Everyone,

Can I ask for some help please. I have a 2004 Sunseeker Portofino 46 with Volvo TAMD75’s, the starboard engine starts fine but although in neutral jumps into ahead straight away. If I then put it into astern it stalls the engine I’m guessing because it’s trying to select 2 gears simultaneously. I have inspected most of the electrical connections for corrosion and all seems fine. Any ideas please ? Many thanks in advance.

Remove both gearbox solenoids , it sounds like the forward one is stuck in the open position allowing oil to pass under pressure to the clutch pack .
ZF 280 gearbox or twin disc ?
you can free off the valve with a small screwdriver and some wd40 .
you will need to test for voltage at the plugs first , make sure in neutral there are no volts at each plug , if there is it could be an ECU fault or throttle potentiometer .

if your at your boat you should know better.

If Pauls answer dosnt work turn off the power and disconnect the big red plugs on the ECU then reconnect turn back on the power and see if it clears.
