Volvo sump oil

Tried a search and came up with zilch.
Looking to find an alternative source for KAD 32 sump oil other than overpriced marina products - I seem to remember it was discussed on here a few months back and truck oil was mentioned /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

If you mean the engine oil then CD or better 15W 40 for turbocharged diesels from LSUK or wherever.

Agree with Andy .
Use 15/40 turbo, 25 litre tub.
From motor factor.
Does the Boat and most of My cars.
Take Your filter/ filters along too, for a match up.

Just been through this with my engines. Apparently CD spec superceded by CF-4. I was recommended Q8 HDX 15/40 at £35 for 25 litres lovely amber colour and not the black shity stuff I had last time (Texaco mixed fleet...yuk)

To use volvo spec oil, find your nearest truck centre from here then phone them up for the price of VDS-2 (15W40) oil. I bought 20Litres and if I recall, it was half the volvo marine agent price and you can also get the coolant there very cheap also (manual says replace every two years - not sure if you really need to though)

Shell Rimula X is my preferred tipple - designed for turbo diesels in tractors etc. Did spend a lot onf money on Castrol GTD magnatec but concluded I was a victim of advertising.......... /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I use Gulf LDS which is designed for lorries it's ACEA E5, API C1-4, 15/40 VDS-3. There is a lower spec one called Gulf Long Road which is VDS-2 which is quite OK...I just like to give my engine a treat now and again.

20 litres of VDS3 [supercedes VDS2] at £2.51 litre from Volvo
Truck centre and they will be more than happy to match filters
when I can identify them....and coolent cheap when I need some...
