Volvo spares prices

My MD1 probably needs new engine mounts BUT at these prices it'll have to wait a bit!

Thats £150 a set. I thought initially that the high price was due to there being for an obsolete engine but looking down the applications list, some current engines use the same ones.

I'm a bit confused, those are rubber cushions for a flexible shaft coupling, aren't they?

They are for an MD1B but they look the same.

Maybe they could be used as mounts - you'd need to ask a VP dealer.

Vetus?I once got mounts for my old Bukh at very reasonable prices.

Takes me back.... the shaft coupling on my old MD1b used the same rubber mountings as were used for the engine. I replaced it with a 1GM10, nearly 10 years ago due to spares price and availability issues back then. I can't see it being any better now.

Don't know if they're 'hard' or 'soft' though (or any dimensions). How critical are they? I seem to recall that another forum member had some made from modifies Landrover bits.

I calculated the weight on each mount and bought the apropriate ones for the Bukh.I had a Halyard coupling which made it easier but for a single cylinder engine maybe hard mounts would be advisable in order to restrict movement.Unless you have a coupling that will allow it.

I need the bobbin type unless I'm going to do some major engineering (unlikely) and all the Vetus ones seem to have two bolt fixings at the bottom.

Don't know if they have what you need but they were a lot cheaper than chandlery prices.
