Volvo pentra 2002

Hello I recently bought a colvic 26 with a Volvo pentra 2002 engine I've noticed it collects diesel and water in the bildge. It seems like some of this liquid is coming from a hole at the bottom of the engine, see attached picture, can anyone tell me what this rectangular hole is for. The water spits out when engine is running

Tthere is a rectangle hole, about half inch long , on the stbd side (not bottom) When that leaks it is probable the bellhousing full of oil. Not good.

I don't see oil coming out, mainly water with I think some diesel

It's also leaking water from the top of engine from what looks like the raw water outlet

This may be the source of the water you see which appears to be leaking from the bottom of the engine

From one of the joints between pipe #8 or pipe #25 with the cylinder head or exhaust elbow perhaps or from gasket #3

Buy a set of black seals (see Parts 4Engines)
I find they have a habit of being installed, and still drip, but overnight the drip will miraculously cease all by itself .
