Hi to all,

Just bought a second hand speed boat with TAMD41P and PD-E stern drive.
The problem is that due to after market propellers that are being used, am loosing performance.

Just wondering what is the official model of propellers that cames from the Volvo.
Is it A6? Anyone knows or have a spare propellers to buy them from?

Thank you in advanced.

I may be wrong but don't think Volvo supply A series props any longer . Instead there are J series but they have all metal hubs without the rubber bushing .
I have been led to understand Michigan are good after market A series props while some of the others may be inferior metal.

thanks everyone for the replies,

but, what is the default type of propellers that comes with this specific set ( engine and stern drive) ?

You need to know your ratios as well, you could need anything from a A3 to A7 depending on the ratio and speed range of the boat etc.... see below

The A type has a rubber bushing which is intended to help absorb a shock load if you hit something with the prop.
The J type has no rubber bush.
The J type is a newer design claiming to have some benefits. From what I hear you go up a number so A5 = J6.

BTW,
What is the differrence between A type and J type?
@Chris_d , do you have the same diagram for J type of propeller?
Volvo don't sell A or B anymore but J instead, the charts don't show J's. You can buy after market A type, Keypart stock them at a reasonable price, personally I'd stick with A type if you know what the correct size for your boat is.
