Greetings seafarers,

Our inboard Volvo Penta MD11C has been thoroughly cooked and the engine has seized up (flywheel not turning). The gearbox is a Volvo Penta 100S Saildrive.
We have then started looking into replacements (and the whole replacement process) engines, be they exact drop-in replacements (MD11C) or other, more modern alternatives that might make our lives easier when sourcing spare parts.

We've been looking into a Yanmar replacement but it seems that adapting the Volvo saildrive mount into a Yanmar one will be cost prohibitive, since the bottom part of the saildrive mount (the one which is encapsulated in fiberglass) has to be pulled out, and a custom adapter must be made, then implanted again into the hull.

The other alternative would probably be getting a different Volvo, with a (hopefully) similar footprint and the exact same saildrive or compatible.
The question would hence be: are these three (and I dare ask about the 130S too) saildrives interchangeable in terms of the top flange that fastens the diaphragm alongside with saildrive to the hull? (to be exact - look here - part number 38)

The diaphragm replacement kit is 110S, 120S, 130S, 150S and MS25S compatible, my assumption is, however, that it does not necessarily testify anything in regards to the flange template.

Many thanks!
Elad
