I am in the middle of re engine of my boat. Originally it was a Volvo MD2B mated via a bearing carrier to an AQ100 outdrive (with gearbox). The replacement engine is an MD11C, I removed the broken MS gearbox from it and I’m trying to mate it to my original outdrive and bearing carrier. They won’t quite go together, the bolt head (pictured in the top picture attached) fouls on the end of the driveshaft that runs through the bearing carrier. Just wondering if anyone knows the purpose of the bolt and whether I can safely remove it and run without it.
Many thanks in advance
