Hello all

After 3 years of renovating a Storebro Baltic 32 we finally made a trial on the river, when we came back in the

harbor one engine (gearbox) did not shift good anymore, I checked the oil and there was no drop inside…..

turns out that the previous owner did not tighten the oil drain screw so in time all oil went out.

I filled the gearbox with oil to try but did not want to go in forward, only sometimes.

Drained the oil and saw a lot of verry verry tiny bronze particles in the oil so I presume the bronze

sliding part which changes direction is damaged.

Now my question, is it possible to change this bronzen sleeve from above so I don't need to open the whole gearbox?

Thank you for any advice

Walter

Hello again

I removed the top cover and the top nut but can not get the upper bearing housing assy (23) out.
I could lift around two mm but that's it, even I can move the upper bearing housing a bit but not upwards.
Is there something else which can prevent from going out?

Thank you for any advice

You have to remove the input housing to pullout the top bearing , so it’s box out .

Dear Paul
Thank you for your answer
I try to remove the input housing, the upper bearing seat right?
But it looks the inside upper gear prevents it from comming out.
Is this gear bigger then the hole from the upper seat?
Thanks a lot

No the front part which is where the input shaft is , 6 bolts to undo then pull the input housing from the main casing , then pull the upper gear bearing assembly to remove the cone .

Hello Paul

Sorry to bother you once more

Is it normal that the central shaft only goes a little part inside the bottom bearing assembly?

Thank you

Walter
