What attracted you buying an IPS boat ? How was the IPS marketed ?

Most atracted me that it operates on joystick and the boat is moving like in the game
Its awsome system from volvo penta ?

Have you ever solve this “limited steering” problem. I have the same problem and the mechanic can’t seem to solve it yet after couple months. It is intermittent appearing and become more frequent overtime. We even replace the top part of the pod. Please share any ideas or resolution you may have discovered.

this thread is so old. Accidentally came across my own old thread. It seems I fixed my problem myself. The multipin electrical connector to the top of the IPS never seemed quite right. I disconnected it and with a baby screwdriver I very slightly bent all the pins and then re-connected it. The 'limp mode' has never occured again since !! After I 'fixed' the issue the Volvo dealer mentioned that Volvo had changed this electrical connection. Would have been nice to learn this earlier. I'm assuming Volvo din't change this connector because it was working just fine ?!!

Could someone tell me where the steering sensors that you replaced are located to solve the problem?
