Volvo Penta D12 and NMEA2000

Hi!

Looking at adding VP's NMEA2k gateway to my Sealine T52 to get engine info to the NMEA2000 bus. I think that I need the following Volvo Penta parts, first a Y split cable #3588206 and then the gateway itself, #3889758.

Would D12 be able to use the trip computer, or is that overkill when I have it in the MFD's instead? I'e what EVC level does the D12's have?

Depends which EVC level of system you have . Early 675 Hp engine is old style analog gauges so no 2000 link . D12 800 is later system .

This is some think that we have considered , we have D12-800 2008 and E120 raymarine on a Targa 52 ,any idea on cost and complexity ??? would be nice to get some real time info from the engines

If I send you serials, can you have a check on what level it is?

I understood it that if one is EVC-B or lower its only Engine data thats availeble, but if the engines are EVC-C or higher the trip computer will work depending on a software upgrade?
