Volvo Penta control panel needed

I had a marine engine come to my boat when it was in hamble point Marine and he took it away to sort the lock on it. The problem is he did not come back before I had to move the boat and I lost his number when my phone broke....... Just my luck. DOES any one have a control panel going for a volvo Penta MD1 b going and is it hard to wire it in?

The wiring is fairly simple, only the alarm module is a bit complicated.

Wouldn't be too complicated to make a new panel, or you could get the panel made to a suitable drawing by a professional firm then simply hook up the bits - you would need to find suitable instruments, some switches and an alarm buzzer, but all ebayable I would expect.

It is indeed very simple. Far more simple than you seem to envisage

It does not have the electronic alarm module you are possibly thinking of, or any instruments, or even a buzzer.

Just:

• A key switch. A suitable one could probably be obtained from Furneaux Riddall
• a push button,
• two simple warning lights
• and a switch for auxiliary equipment, which if not needed could be omitted

The wiring diagram is in the Owners Instruction Book and the Workshop Manual, links to both of which have already been posted

A simple panel could easily be cut from a piece of sheet aluminium without involving any professional firms.

Very possibly a complete second hand panel could be found. e-Bay perhaps

Their was one on eBay which finished yesterday sold for £7.50. They don't seem to come up often. Easy to wire up if you can get at it.
If you put it on a search with them, you'll get an alert when one comes up.

Do these guys throw things away? I doubt it. May have re-used/sold on though? Must be worth a 'sherlock' moment?
