End of my patience now. My own fault again

Rebuilding one of the engines for the boat and snapped a piston ring.

I am in need of a set for a single piston for Volvo Penta AQ130C B20 block, + 0.020 piston set

I have looked all over inc Ebay, marine and Volvo specialists.

worth an ask here.

You could try these guys,

Romford
Essex RM7 7NS
Have used them for a few vintage jobs as well as modern oddball stuff

Thanks, worth a try as still struggling but for a company that sell full sets on the 0.020 size. If they will sell me a single piston set that will do.

I Understand your pain.
We bought a single ring from
Piston Rings - Cox and Turner
They supplied us with a single ring after we snapped a new one.
(Ironically taking it off its pre installed position on the new oversize piston to check the gap).
Turns out that you can wind the stainless rings off but not the carbon steel ones. We bought a tool after that.

Ps you have to call them.

All you need is the diameter of the bore, the thickness of the ring and its radial depth. For some applications, if it is a chromed ring or not.

Once you have that, a specialist supplier for Vintage and Classic engines will be able to help.

Thorntons were always the Go-To people when I was in the Antique Motorbike business.

But that was twenty years ago.......................................................

all sorted guys.

FW Thornton had one. well a set of pistons for £210, not bad but would not sell a set of rings. They would only sell a single piston and rings so sod it. but for £88. oh well its done now.
I spend more dam time finding things than doing things at times.
Now its to get the head sorted with new valve seats

thanks all for the replies ;)
