Volvo Penta 2003 oil pan removal

I have a 2003 Volvo diesel and there is a leak in the oil pan caused by the engine mount pushing into the front of the pan. The service department says that the timing gear assembly needs to be removed in order to take the pan off. Does anyone have any knowledge of this?

Thanks! Yes, it looks that it is more complicated to remove than I originally thought.

Correct, 2000 series motor a pain to strip down. Make sure you know what your doing with the governor before you take the front housing off. Get it wrong and the motor will rev to valve bounce!!!
