I need a new starter battery and after looking at other posts I note that whilst it has been discussed no one has given a CCA figure. In the manual it mentions a figure of <70Ah. Due to space restrictions I want to get the smallest starter battery I can soI have room for a larger domestic battery.

Thanks

I had a similar puzzle with my Yanmar 1GM10 which is a very similar engine. I found some advice on the Yanmar help forum which gave recommended CCA ratings for starter batteries for different sizes of engine. The recommendation for the 1GM10 was 200CCA which I imagine would also be adequate for your Volvo. I sourced a 300CCA battery of suitably small dimensions from Barden Power - the only complication was the smaller Japanese standard terminal posts but it's quite easy to find adaptor collars that allow you to use standard terminal clamps.

Hi i put a new battery on my Volvo 2001 last year it is a 80ah car battery it cost £50 from my local car shop(not Halfords)as they are very expensive, it is very compact,it has given good service all summer and i was using the boat most days, also it charges up from the engine pretty quick, hope this helps.
