I was servicing the engine, a volvo penta 2001, and noticed some powder around the thermostate housing. Clearly its been leaking. Perhaps this has caused issues with the next part.

But what is this plastic electrical connection part? There seem to be four spade connectors (3 corroded) leaving one functioning.

Is it easy to replace?

Thanks

Okay. 88quid for a fuse? Can I just replace it with a fuse block?

What rating for the fuse?Screenshot_20231121_200858_com.amazon.mShop.android.shopping.jpg
This one is £8.70 on Amazon. Of course, I'll have to add the cost of an actual fuse...

No heater plugs on a penta 2001.

I pressume its just to protect the panel? My panel has an on/off switch, starter button, 3 lights and a buzzer.

I'm guessing a lower amp number?

As Moody Sabre points out a (genuine) replacement fuse box is under £20 from Keypart

The cheapest option would be to replace it with an inline blade fuse holder and carry a few spare fuses as Stemar suggests .

The fuses in the VP block appear to be 15 amps. That would be the maximum allowable because some of the wiring it protects is only 1.0mm. 10 amps might be more acceptable and should be adequate for the loads.
( Note the panel also supplies the starter relay as well as the lights, buzzer and tacho.)

When mine started to look like the OP's, it was replaced by one of these and a few spare fuses in my leccy spares box. It's a well-known rule of electricity that the likelihood of a fuse blowing is inversely proportional to the number of spares carried.

According to that link the waterproof inline fuse is 11.70 when you include postage. OMG
