Hi. I have a pair of KAD44P-B engines from 2000 vintage cica 950 hrs. Neither of them will bring the superchargers in on start up or when running. I have checked the clutches, fuses, wireing, speed sensors.
So does anybody know what may affect the EDC switching them on. Last week the stb engine started working OK but has stopped again. So is it afected by the inlet manifold pressure sensor and if so where is it ?

Yes booked in for diagnostics, not sure about the same time. I need to know how the edc controls the SC as in what parameters need to be in place. So if any one has a logic ladder that would tell me where to look next.

The end to the story has arrived. The battery charger was wired the wrong side of the battery switch. So when the battery switch was off and the battery charger was on it was feeding 15v to both EDC's for weeks at a time, they didn't like it and put out an electrical fault. Local main dealer plugged in and reset them all good now and the battery is charging when it should.

Sounds more like the batteries were not being charged when the isolators were off, and the charger was feeding a battery charging voltage to the EDC's without a battery connected (which isn't great)

The batteries were charging when the battery switch on but not when it was off.
How it got to be like that I have know idea but if you didn't plug her in you would never know.

The EDC s went into fault due to the charger current that was not being supplied via a battery. This model year was set up with 2 starting batteries and the EDC being powered from the domestic battery and a battery switch for the EDC and another for the domestic supply. Which should be fine if its wired up correctly.
