The Book of Words has failed me. ?

When re-assembling the endcap which quadrant does the cooling water intake go (A, B or C) and the heated water exhaust go (A,B or C). I remember this being discussed previously on YBW but I cannot find it. I suspect this is pretty fundamental to operation so am at a bit of a loss at it's omission in the manual.

So after cleaning, which way the endcap

Another thing. How can you have an intake doubling back on itself divided into 3 sealed partitions like that? I'm seriously struggling to conceptualise it and dont want to be thrusting rods lustily down the holes thinking there is a blockage if there is some weird system hidden from the eye.

I think water goes into one quarter, then goes down the far end, across into the half section, back down the half section, back to the far end again and back out the remaining quarter.

The water has then passed through 4 times

Bingo! (y)That makes sense. I'll confirm with a water test. Top it up while upended and see how it flows.

Thanks

B is in flows to C makes a loop to A which is highest point , A to exhaust elbow .
if you look at the end cap you can usually see where the seals have marked the end cover .

Thanks VP

Edit. I had looked at the marks on the end cap but that was no guarantee that it had been in-situ correctly before. The more I delve into this boat the more hidden sins gems I find. On one of the HX the anode had depressed a seal
