He's going to hate me for this, but I asked Volvopaul to undertake the annual service of the KAD 300's and outdrives on my boat. Brilliant service, a really nice guy, a reasonable cost and I would not hesitate to recommend him to any other forum members (I believe he services other engine makes other than Volvo).

Just to confirm, I have no connection (other than as a customer), I'm not on commission and my other name is not VolvoPaul. I just believe in letting others know when I've had good service (no pun intended) as per my post a few weeks ago regarding JB Yachts and their excellent service replacing the windows of my front canopies.

There should be a special forum for reccomendations, or maybe there is and I do not know where it is?

Thats great to hear, personal recommendation is always the best way. Does VolvoPaul work on Mercruiser Engines? We have just moved to Port Solent and discovered no Mercruiser agent on site.

If not, could anybody recommend a local Mercruiser engineer?

Regards,

Paul.

Thank you! all in a days work for me, what Calamity hasnt told you is ive moved to Eastlands yard from Shamrock Quay and the owner has moored me infront of him! so theres no way I would do a bad job I love my hassle free weekends.

Don't suppose you've a mate in Bristol, perhaps VolvoAdgeCutler?
We only have one company here, Advance Marine, Phil there is very good but they are sooooo busy.
Need antifouling and DP legs serviced this summer.

guys
I wonder if anyone can help me, am completely new to website and also not an engineer!
My volvo D6 engine is in bits after only 1000 hours
In a nutshell came to a grinding halt with alarms going etc, switched off, cooled off, to find no 2 injector had blown the copper sleeve it sits in, therefore allowing high pressure into cooling water system and blew 3 core plugs out, loss of coolant therefore overheated.
All prev services done by volvo dealers etc etc
is this a fault with engine i dont know about ?
I believe someone in norway had the same prob a while back , can any one throw any light on this for me
any help much appreciated

Yes they have had sleeve problems but as usuall volvo dont always act on every engine they build and do it on warranty, therefore they let the owner pick up the bill, or in your case the pieces out the bilge!
