Volvo engine service, Chichester marina

Can anyone recommend a good engineer to service my Volvo MD2020 in Chichester marina? Golden Arrow have just gone loopy over their price this year, exacerbated by them closing the Chichester office so they are whacking on 2 hr travel (at 60 an hour!)

Try Steve up at Dell Quay Yard, not sure what Chi marinas policy is on visiting engineers etc, but Dell Quay were always mellow the other way around when it came to rigging fitters visiting from Chi marina.

If you're in Chichester Marina and need someone local, there is a guy called Sean (I think) who's a good diesel engineer. He lives on a wooded motor sailor in the marina (it's called 'Slip') and he drives and brown long wheel base Landrover with a roofrack. He has the first in the line of workshops (on the left) as you go into Dell Quay Boatyard.

I always do my own servicing easy enough,what sort of price is a service these days.

Warren Butlen WB Marine has been doing good work for me on various diesels since 1993. 07860 446 199. He was even waiting to take my lines when I had to return to Chi with a diesel leak whilst on my way to an SB weekend!

I have to say that it is really nice to find good old fashioned customer service is still alive and well. Golden Arrow have got in touch with me, after reading this thread, to allay my concerns. It seems that a non-standard service item that I asked for, a Rydlime treatment that I believe to be relatively cheap is actually quite time consuming and thus costly. Take that out and the actual service price is comparable with previous years. Even better, it was my misunderstanding, and they do not charge travel time to the boat. I have always found their work to be excellent so I shall be sticking with them but thanks to all who took the time to respond with suggestions.
