Volvo EDC throttle quadrant stiff

I have 2 EDC throttle quadrants on my flybridge Sealine.
Since new I have had perpetual 6.4 errors on the upper helm only and Volvo changed everything including the upper throttle pots and they said they had tightened the controls with a resultant significant difference between the upper and lower throttles.

I stuck with this arrangement even though it is has often been a pain to feel those vital three notches and quickly go between say ahead and neutral.

Recently I had an alternator changed and the engineer found the rectifiers had been incorrectly wired from new and since the fix there have been no faults on the upper helm - deep joy!

All of which means I want to adjust the throttle friction to match the lower helm. However even with the adjusting bolt removed the throttle is just as tight.

Any ideas?

Need taking off and lubricant on the shaft it's partially seized in the housing , grease the shaft then reset the friction bolt .

I normally find that just cleaning and greasing the throttle arm shafts doesn't help that mush. Whilst the throttle arms are removed from the aluminium housing remove the black plastic bushes and scrape the corrosion from inside the holes where the bushes fit. The bushes should slide in easily with a bit of grease.
