Volvo D6 370HP 42 ft boat

Are you going up or coming down?

Getting on the plane you need more power to get over the hump then throttle back. I guess to get her going I’d expect some where around 3000rpm initially, then once the boat is fully planing you can throttle back and I’d expect the plane to be maintained down to 2200 ish, depending on weight and configuration. This assumes a shaft drive fb boat.

Stern drive sports cruiser where thrust can be vectored and weight likely less I would expect fewer rpm required

I’d be thinking what ever rpm the forced induction apparatus kicks in then add another 100 rpm .
Your forced induction highly likely a turbo and possibly ( without looking specifically up ) an initial supercharger boost .
Based on previous experience of a KAD 300 north of 2700 rpm towards 2800 for it to pop up and plane .
370 Hp in a 42 ftr is a bit weak imho ,of course I say this blind of the actual boat and displacement.
Naturally if we are drip fed more relevant info I reserve the right to adjust those figures .
