I have twin 300 D4's in my Sealine 365. The compressors on both engines cut in as they should but the starboard compressor then does not cut out when the turbos kick in. It does cut off as it should at low revs when I back off the throttles.
I have had a Volvo dealer out with a vodia and all sorfware has been updated and auto reset done on the helm control unit which showed a fault. There are no faults shown now on the vodia.
Has anyone come across this issue before ?
Many thanks in advance.

What are the max revs from both engines together and one at a time. The superchargers should cut in and out depending on the engine load. It could be something as simple as a bush slipping in one of the props on the opposite (Port) drive. This will then increase the load on the stbd engine keeping the compressor in.

Thanks for the response Aquatom. Both compressors cut in around the 1400, 1500 mark. Port compressor is out around 2300/2400 (as far as I can remember) but starboard remains on beyond that. Starboard engine seems reluctant to rev beyond 2800 but I have to say I have not pushed this and eased off as soon as it becomes obvious the starboard compressor isn't cutting out.
I will have the boat lifted, cleaned and props checked as soon as possible.

When lifted check the gaps between the front and rear propellers and look for any signs of rubbing between props or contact with the plastic part infront of the props.

There is a common problem with an intake manifold air temperature./ pressure sensor, On my boat (a single D4- 300) it was forever hunting between supercharger and turbocharger operation. The sensor is cheap boat wise, but twice what a car one is despite being a Bosch item !

Hopefully this may help someone in the future encountering a similar issue..........

Further check of the engines yesterday morning discovered a loose jubilee clip on the pipe between the turbo and charge air cooler. I had the exchangers removed and cleaned about 5 - 10 running hours ago and I suspect this occurred then. She was lifted and scrubbed on Friday, (drives & props checked ) so that had also been ticked off the list of possible issues. Off we then went with engineer on board and vodia plugged in for a sea trial, It is a good half an hour from our berth on the Beaulieu river down to the Solent and I must confess having everything crossed for that length of time was becoming uncomfortable. I was mightily relieved when she popped straight up on to the plane and at 30 knots my smile was well and truly back. For those that had to witness the buffoon coming onto the plane accelerating like a berk, only to drop off again numerous times this morning I can only apologise...

If anyone needs a fully equipped Volvo outfit complete with vodia around Lymington I can only praise the patience and ability of Ropewalk Marine and their engineers. They have made a genuine effort to get us back up and running as quickly as possible and been a delight to deal with, top chaps.

Here's to a good summer. Cheers

So whoever removed and cleaned your coolers is responsible for not fitting the clip correctly causing your boost problem.
Another job that didn't require the vodia to put right, I'd be sending them the bill for Ropewalks time on sorting the problem.
