Volvo bashing....

There has been a great deal of volvo bashing on this site of late. Which was mostly stirred up by poor Dom's plight, but he's gone quiet, so whats going on Dom?

BTW, JMHO, I think the engines are ok-ish, speshly when you look at the number of them out there, just seems to me that aftersales is worse than bad.

Please dont let this become one of those 1000 post threads.

I am awaiting a call from Volvo after putting a fax to them last week still no reply I am told I will be called back today but not hanging much hope on it. Getting a bit fed up now.

Well Dom, sorry to hear V'vo still not sorted you out, seems to underline what everyone says, we see more failures of V'vo engines cos such a big market share, not neccessarilly got more problems than others me thinks, afterdsales does seem particularly bad, so you have my sympathy.

so volvo bashsing . as to date i have had one newgearbox [ failed in first half hour]
three drive plates,volvo say nothing wrong with them, yet when last one arrived it had been beefed up with plates and alan screws. oh and port +star cyl head gaskets. four new hour clock/rev dials. OK in all fairness to volvo ihave clocked up 750h in 2 years .But be warned it may be you next.

The first boat i had with a inboard engine was a Draco 2000 ,with a Volvo 120hp engine ,which blew up on me and had to be rebuilt ,i cant say it has put me off of Volvos ,but i did end up with mercruisres in the one i have now ,but to be fair if their were Volvos in it i would still have bought it.
