Volvo antifreeze alternative.

we run Volvo trucks and use Volvo antifreeze we were told by Volvo never to mix green/yellow as it goes like chewing gum
Also you cannot mix the new orange/red as well so we have to flush through and use orange
From Volvo you can not get green or yellow for trucks
I have a boat and use yellow but will have to change to orange
We still have g/y in stock but only for topping up

As i understand…..green is an early HOAT. Closer to an old fashioned IAT from what ive read. Yellow is a true OAT and the new orange is an Si-OAT. I thought OAT and Si-OAT are fine together? The bulletin above supports that (yellow/orange). OAT/si-HOAT dont get along with HOAT/IAT at all.

OTOH, when I looked, it also said, in the second paragraph in the Comma G48 antifreeze blurb

"Built with a unique technical process that will resist all signs of rusting, this 8 speed chain is perfect for long life use and 7 or 8 speed bikes"

I think that could be a bit more confidence inspiring, arse-elbow discrimination-wise

Given that its a glaringly obvious error, it suggests proofreading is absent or deficient
This in turn suggests that a technical error in this highly technical, confused and confusing area would be very likely to go undetected, which suggests Halfords website would be a risky source of technical information.

This in turn suggests that a technical error in this highly technical, confused and confusing area would be very likely to go undetected, which suggests Halfords website would be a risky source of technical information.

Sure. But sometimes (probably often in fact) thats the main or only source availlable to the punter.

When, a very long time ago, I worked as a network "engineer", for a company that featured a policy statement from On High (which is in America) to the effect that "The salesman is King", a lot of grief could be easily traced to that starting point.
