'Volunteer' boats wrecked

It is quite a bit worse, by all accounts one engine snapped it's mount and both have been bent somewhere around the shaft where they hit the road. the hull looks ok however I understand there is a crack somewhere and the tube has been torn away from the hull at the port aft qtr. Not brilliant unfortunately, there could be a whole host of underlying issues that only a decent inspection would through up rather than a cursory glance.

I am not a surveyor, but even including a new trailer there is not "£100,000 damage" as stated in the news.

I fail to see how it could of deteriorated in a few days :)

Well I did say I wasn't a marine engineer but I do know my way around engines or at least I did once upon an apprenticeship many years ago. I suppose what I can see doesn't look as bad as what I imagine could be wrong inside the actual boat. I have heard takes of separation which I don't know anything about and that is what would worry me. You have your own RIB and so you know more about them than I do..
