To JD. How are you connecting to the internet on Gigha? When I was there a couple of weeks ago, I couldn't get the wifi to work, and finished up on the 1g dongle.
I'm confused? You are in Gigha and the Mull (of Kintyre?) bears 248M? Are you sure?

You mean you don't have the paper charts out?
I have finally started using the charcoal heater I installed two years ago. Works a treat - but needed in July?
Sounds nice and cosy. Count von Eberspächer of that ilk did the business for us in the evenings. Could "see my breath" in the Sound of Rum last week.......
The hardiness of sailors is in a rather sorry state these days.
Having heat was excellent. I was watching my breath in Loch Moidart last week!
I go sailing for fun, and my idea of fun does not include gratuitous suffering. Public school alumni and Tory cabinet ministers may not agree, which is their right.

It is about expectation. Our normal season is roughly March to November or early December. I'm still looking forward to May.....
Has anyone else heard about this being on the way.
This will be the South Lanarkshire in Siberia then?
No, Russia, LadyOldBoots is in South Lanarkshire. It is warm in Siberia, cold in South Lanarkshire, about 23 v 12 Celsius, which I find a bit topsy turvy considering.
Actually, I do understand the points being made. As I am currently basking in a rather pleasant 23 Celsius in Western Siberia I am not complaining. The drift of the thread leads me into a topical topic. Before I raise the point, it is absolutely nothing to do with MMGW, so I don't want anyone who may care to comment to discuss that subject. Talking to LadyOldBoots about the miserable weather in South Lanarkshire she stated that there was an article where it mentioned that we are possibly entering one of these mini ice age periods, where the poor die in large numbers and the wealthy buy matches from destitute children and skate on frozen rivers running through their city centres. Has anyone else heard about this being on the way.
