When viewing a multi page thread on my android device, I can view the first and last pages using the < > keys but not the intermediate pages. Is this usual? (I can view intermediates by switching to 'normal' view)

Mmh no? Using the ICS Browser+, set to "Desktop" there's no difference really. Same with Dolphin, Chrome or Opera. The only problem I have is fat fingering user profiles instead of opening threads ;)

It works OK for me when I view in Firefox on a Google Nexus tablet (using Android 4.3). However, I don't understand your comment about switching to normal view - it displays for me just the same as it does in IE on my laptop.

You can select 'full site' or 'mobile'. Via a dialogue box at bottom of page. I use mobile display on my android phone as it's more useable but does have the disadvantage i described.

Ah, OK, I use the full site, which works on the 7" Nexus screen, but I'd use the mobile version on a smaller phone screen (my eyesight isn't good enough!).

I use the standard site layout on my smartphone but access it via the Opera browser.
Opera has a word wrap facility so if you zoom in it reformats the text so there is no scrolling to left and right to read it.

Works for me :-)
