Videos taken in and around your boat.

Fab videos Nick! Smiling faces and fantastic boat action. Really makes you want to get back on the water asap...

Well done.

Fantastic!:D

On a different point, For all you shakey video people, a friend of mine is currently developing a gyro stabilizer for cameras...for the aerial photography industry...but I think it would be useful for you too. The prototype looks huge in the photo, but he assures me the production version will be much smaller http://gyroscope.com/d.asp?product=GYROSTABILIZER it will go under your camera on standard tripod mount

How about:

Powerboat 2013: Video in which principal subject is a Powerboat, filmed in 2013
Sailing 2013: Video in which principal subject is a Sail boat, filmed in 2013
Cruising 2013: Video in which principal subject is a location, filmed in 2013
Activity 2013: Video in which principal subject is a water based activity, filmed in 2013
Other: Any other video, including those filmed pre-2013

All videos to be posted before Dec 31st 2013.

Just a suggestion?

I was thinking something slightly less formal of divisional. I'm not sure it really matters what type of boat you are on.

I was thinking more along the lines of:

Funniest film
I'm so jealous
Thank god it wasn't me
Best production
Best actor(s)
"This old tub" (whilst languishing in Monaco etc.)
Most turquoise water
Best use of crappy weather
Most tenuous like to boating
"Brilliant"
Fastest
Slowest
Special award (for what ever you want on the day). As many as you need!

Something along those lines. Why divide the different boating factions. We all share the same love of water.

I also share JFM's preference for a September gathering. Isn't there a boat show somewhere around that time........?

Saturday night is Oscar night :)

We might even get a manufacturer (or two) on board if it was held around the boat show.

Henry :)

I was hoping there would be a 'Best foreign film - shot above the 60 degrees latitude" -subcategory :D

Maybe we could even make them up as we go along and see what turns up...

Fantastic plan!

Here is an old vid I've posted many times but here it goes again.

The intention is for this thread to be a bit more intimate, a window on the lives of the people who frequent the forum.
I just happened to read your input again, and on that basis, it popped to my mind a video which - even if already posted in the past - MUST have its place in this thread!

Here is one with one of those raggy things in it...

What a great video. Enjoyed watching that from start to finish. Very well put together & told a story.

There are clearly some heavy hitters. What makes it all the more amazing was that no helicopters were used, although you did slip in the old friendly dolphin routine for the Ahh..... how sweet vote :)

Henry :)
