As he got me into the mess in the first place I could answer your question in several ways
In the event, he backed up to my starb'd quarter and accepted a line (please note Byron!) which I heaved across to him in exemplary fashion. He then secured the line on one of his puny princess 33 cleats (dunno how you can call them that really... ) and proceeded to take up the slack before increasing his engine revs and sucking me stern first out of the groove in the mud that my keel had created, Its the last bit that was important as it was essential to pull the boat back out of the groove rather than sideways which would have been impossible.
Is that graphic enough for you or would you like details of the preceding conversation etc etc ?
I was a bit stupid really. We were traveling together and he insisted we should moor up on the festival side so that his little legs wouldn't have too far to walk into town. Should have let him go in first and then rafted up alongside him ! Whatever you do, don't ask him what state his pulpit was in and how THAT happened!
