I came across a nice little video about a boat in western Norway which is 170 years old and has been sitting in a boatshed for the last 100 years, but has been put back in the water with the assistance of museum enthusiasts.
The boat is a 27 foot Nordhordaands boat. She is to be worked on to get her back to tip top condition and then a replica will be made for the museum (to be used both as static display and on the water). The boat will then go back to her owner.
She was originally built to transport his family to Bergen and back, the way we now use cars.
