Victron Connect App

Further to my #37 I reconnected the cable today and couldn't see the BT connection setting

I then connected the cable to the second controller and, lo and behold, I found

I also connected via the cable to the Victron app on my phone using a USB to C connector. The suspect controller again had no BT option whereas the other one did plus the option to rename the controller etc.
So now I'm flummoxed. I don't really know what more to do. The controllers are still under guarantee but supplier is in Mersin in the south east and I know if I contact them I'll eventually end up having to disconnect the unit and courier it to them. They'll then tell me it has to be sent to Victron and, this being Türkiye, the whole process could take months.
I've left the cable connected to the faulty controller so I can plug in with my phone anytime. The controller is otherwise working as it should. I'm tempted to leave well enough alone and hope it fixes itself whenever the release a firmware update.
What do the experts think?

Looks like it's faulty. Could you ask the supplier if they'd sell you a new one and refund you when they sort the faulty one out ?

agree with Paul, have you checked they are running the latest s/w? Victron update s/w fairly often.

As for a way forward, a cheaper solution would be to buy a VE.Direct BT transceiver from Victron. I have one for my MPPT as it was pre-smart (over 6yrs now iirc)
What I don't know is if yours being smart could use an external transceiver though nor what plug you have (guess it's VE.Direct though and not VE.Bus but needs checking)

Thank you both.
The 2 controllers are running the same firmware V1.59 and though it's not clear from the photos I posted earlier it says this is the latest version.
I'm going to post on the Victron website and see if I get any wisdom from there. In the meantime I'm inclined to leave things be - the controller is definitely charging the batteries and I can check it by connecting to the ve direct cable.

I have just bought one to try on a smart controller as I have a weird problem that the built in one will talk to my mobile Bluetooth but not my android car radio setup with the victron app.

Tried everything to get them to talk.

Not much use for op but I picked one up second hand from fb marketplace for £15?

Will let you know if it works with smart controller. Waiting for postman so could be a while.

I didn't get around to posting on the Victron site yet, but I will. However scrap my idea about the firmware update. I notice this morning a new version 1.61 available so I updated both. No change. Can still see the BT toggle etc on one and not on the other. The good news, both still appear to be otherwise functioning correctly.

I posted on the Victron website a few days ago and received a number of replies including one from a Victron staff member who concluded there was a hardware issue rather than a software issue. I've disconnected the controller and returned it to the dealer as recommended. I'll post an update when I hear something. Thanks again to everyone who contributed advice and, in particular, @PaulRainbow and @vas.
