I’m intending interfacing a Ruuvi environment sensor with my Victron Cerbo GX to monitor temperature and RH on board, see details here: Venus OS v2.80 - Ruuvi wireless sensors, Load monitoring, and more - Victron Energy

The sensor is quite expensive, £50 for one in the UK, but I could get four from Finland (where made) for about £100. Does anyone else want one of these sensors? The more I buy the cheaper they are.....

RuuviTag - Ruuvi
i would be interested getting one to try

Interesting but spotted the Cerbo Bluetooth is not upto the job? It suggests using a Bluetooth USB dongle. What are you using or are you just going to see if the Cerbo Bluetooth works OK?

Yes, saw that, as you say, I intend giving it a go with the native Bluetooth, if it doesn’t work I can easily add a Bluetooth dongle later. Much will depend upon the proximity of sensor to Cerbo I expect. I use the Cerbo’s native Bluetooth for Remote Console and it works absolutely fine.

I’ve not had any issues with my set up, recently added Cerbo GX to replace Rpi running Venus OS to give a few more options as Ive also just added multi plus and tank levels,

Sounds good. I went for the Cerbo mainly for Victron's VRM which is excellent - especially living 500 miles from the boat as I do. I can let the marina know when their pontoon shorepower has tripped!

I'm up for a sensor then if it's not too late?

I wired a relay to the remote generator output of GX to switch on charger via Vrm if solar is lacking

Clever, that’s something I need to do. I’m also keen to setup an alarm which notifies me if the bilge pump is running.
Just adding remote operation of hot water and fresh water tank gauge, I dud start all off with the RPi but this only can run a single output but was good to get set up and working for under £100 with touch screen, now just need to sort out small touch screen to use with GX,

can you add two ruuvi to the list for me

Dave,

ive the gx50 touchscreen connected to the Cerbo. To be honest I don’t think the touchscreen is really necessary. It’s so easy to Bluetooth via phone/tablet to the Cerbo and then use Remote Console via Connect. As ive bought it I’ll use it but not strictly necessary. and would save you a fair Bit of cash.

Okay on the sensors - 2 for you.

I’ve just ordered the display just really to make it easier for SWMBO to use as she does get on with the remote stuff, I did try the HDMI output with a small screen which worked great but could not get a mouse or touch screen to work as was easily with the RPi version. The cost is worth it for the lack of hassle from her

I reckon that’s spot on, my ship‘s captain also cannot be bothered with Remote Console but will use the GX50 screen. I’ve also found that those disinterested and/or lacking in comprehension of how the electrical systems on board function, find the GX50 display intuitive and easy to comprehend, that in itself is a real winner.

And it’s another toy to play with and looks good on the panel ?
Just need to train her to switch off lights when we leave the boat, good job I can switch on charger remotely.
