I didn't know that such a thing existed.
FWIW we frequently have the broadcast radio on whilst also monitoring the VHF. If something of interest comes up on VHF then we switch the broadcast radio off. Otherwise we just carry on listening.
I wouldn't want to be listening to a programme that switches off whilst VHF comes on. Alternatively, I wouldn't like it if we had to have either one or the other on without being able to monitor the other. It depends how it works, but I think I prefer having two separate units.

Nope, but I have a stereo that can monitor VHF 
Don't really expect to use that feature much.
