VHF radio with AIS for navionics?

I’m going to add a fixed vhf radio to the boat this winter, one with ais and I’m wondering which model might be the easiest to also get ais overlaid in navionics on my iPad?

Ideas?

Any of them that output a NEMA signal. Then use a Yakker NMEA to Wi-fi bridge to transmit the data to your tablet and the app.
Yakker is one of the cheaper bridges and is one of the devices listed by Navionics, so it really is plug and play once you’ve made all the connections.
Remember that at present I don’t think you can get a VHF that’ll send an AIS signal so you’ll only be able to receive data.

You can, there are new products available from Navico and Raymarine.

Just in case any further proof was needed that we are being ripped off...probably costs no more to make than an ordinary dsc vhf....
