I'm being asked by Father Christmas what make/model of H/H VHF I'd like. Having spent some considerable time searching and appraising I'm narrowed down to two models.
Now.... I'm not going to get into the age old thread about which is best etc etc... but...
I've come across this ATIS spec that appears to be solely required on continental inland waterways. As I'd like to think I'll hang onto this vhf for some time and to make it as future proof as poss. I'm thinking I ought to get one with the ATIS capability. However...
I can only find one.. The Entel HT640 ATIS. Which ain't a great deal of choice!
Does anyone else have ATIS on thier handheld and if its not the above, what model is it? Also...
Is ATIS required at all? In practise that is? Has anyone got caught on this bit of eurobarb, and if so what happened?
Cheers
