Been doing some wiring today trying to install a bigger feed to the Auto Pilot and connect it to sea talk.
In the course of taking out the old AP wiring I traced the feeds to the Fuse brd and removed the power and the negative feeds. It was then I noticed the Vetus GD900 Gas detector stopped working?
It turned out the AP and the gas detector shared the same negative crimp? So I cut the vetus gas gauge off the AP negative crimp and I thought all would be well? It was then I remembered that the AP was on a permanent live feed, and I had just disconnected the negative, needless to say it stopped working.
I have re connected the negative back again but the Gas Gauge won’t even turn on now!

What could I have done wrong or blown?

I did think that the instant reconnection could have blown the 1Amp fuse, but it is ok having checked it with a meter.

Is there anything I can try before I either send it for repair ( not even sure if it can be repaired as it is quite old now and probably not serviceable )

Or does anybody have one that may have been used as a spare, but no longer required, that I could use if mine has had it

Thanks for any replies

Philip
