Really is a how long is a piece of string...above tedd expect to pay over 150 per meter per year (ball park) yes you will need a licence above tedd say 200 quid for a 14 foot. these are very rough, you will get cheaper and far more expensive.

Some places wont take a 14 ft as it prone to getting nicked...

Any cheaper options? What else can i tell these lads that bought the boat? Speed limits etc? Oh and yes they want it near richmond. They don't know anything about boats so maybe a pb2 coures?

I paid £80/month for a parking bay for a rib on trailer about 5 years ago on the Non-tidal Thames.

:):D

Suggest that they (you) visit Boat Yards in various areas that they are considering to 'go boating' and say 'hello' what can you offer?

Considering the short boat length, using a trailer for usuall 'ashore' storeage with 'launching' when required might be best 'first' option!

Insurance should be built into the costings, but the 'cart before the horse' syndrome means finding a suitable place to do the 'boating' first.

Would have thought that the 'tidal' reaches are the 'cheaper' option, Putney might be worth a visit?

Good hunting :)

We had an 18ft RIB (moored on the water) at Kew Marine, right by Kew Bridge, I think we were paying £85 per month, but your options are fairly limited as space is very difficult to find on the Tidal section.

As for speed limits, 8 knots from Teddington to Wandsworth, then 12 knots down to Margaretness.

There are a few places near Chiswick & Chelsea if that helps, but expect to pay a lot more than £85 per month!
